The National Park Service calls Chiricahua National Monument a "Wonderland of Rocks" and there are a number of scenic views along the drives and 17 miles of hiking trails. The monument also honors the history of the people who called the area home at the Faraway Ranch area.

Chiricahua National Monument is somewhat dog friendly. Dogs are allowed on a few trails, but not allowed on most of the trails at the park. Dogs are allowed in the campground.

Trail Policy

Dogs are only allowed on the following trails while on a leash no longer than 6':

  • Silver Spur Trail - 1.2 miles
  • Faraway Ranch
  • Bonita Creek - 0.7 miles
  • Visitor Center / Campground Trail - 0.4 miles

Dogs are not allowed on any other trails.

Campground Policy

Dogs are allowed at the Bonita Canyon Campground while on a leash.
