Golden Gate National Recreation Area is a large and very popular park that supports a number of plant and wildlife species, and offers stunning vistas, hiking, biking, and picnic opportunities.

Golden Gate National Recreation Area is dog friendly. Dogs are allowed on most trails and most beaches (see below). Dogs are not allowed inside buildings. Dogs may not be left unattended.

Trail Policy

Dogs are allowed on many trails while on a leash, and in some cases voice control. Dogs are not allowed on some trails, as well. Below are the details on trail regulations:
