Grand Portage National Monument is centered around a reconstructed fur trading depot on the shores of Lake Superior.
Grand Portage National Monument is somewhat dog friendly. Dogs are allowed on trails and many outdoor areas, but dogs are not allowed inside buildings, not allowed inside the Ojibwe Village, and also not allowed inside encampments.

Campground Policy
Dogs are allowed in the backcountry campground while on a leash, though the park recommends against bringing dogs camping (we're not entirely sure why).
