The Battle of Kings Mountain was the first major American victory after the British invasion of Charleston. The park preserves the history of the battle, including with a 30 minute historical film at the visitor center, a museum, and a historical trail.

Kings Mountain National Military Park is dog friendly, and dogs are allowed outside and on trails while on a leash. Dogs are not allowed in the visitor center/museum.

Trail Policy

Dogs are allowed on the trails while on a leash no longer than 6'. The park connects to neighboring Kings Mountain State Park, and between the two, there are 16 miles of trails.
