Martin Van Buren Dog Policy
Martin Van Buren National Historic Site is Somewhat Dog Friendly
Martin Van Buren was 8th president of the United States, and was a major political force prior to the American Civil War. This site preserves Lindenwald, his home after the presidency, as well as history of Van Buren's life and political career.
Martin Van Buren National Historic Site is somewhat dog friendly. Dogs aren't allowed inside buildings, so you'll miss some of the main attractions if you bring your dog. However, dogs are allowed on the grounds and on some trails while on a leash (see below). There is also a self guided Cell Phone tour on the Lindenwald Wayside Trail.
