Shiloh was the location of one of the largest battles in the American Civil War, with over 110,000 soldiers, and over 23,000 casualties. Shiloh National Military Park preserves the history of the battle and its effects on the soldiers and the nation. Visitors can walk and bike through the battlefield, as well as visit the Shiloh National Cemetary.

Shiloh National Military Park is somewhat dog friendly. Dogs are allowed on trails and along roads while they are on a leash. Dogs are not allowed in the cemetary.
