Timucuan Preserve contains a large coastal wetland. There is a variety of wildlife in the preserve such as birds, butterflies, and various mammals and reptiles. Fort Caroline and Kingsley Plantation are inside the preserve.

Timucuan Preserve is a fairly dog friendly preserve where dogs are allowed on most trails while on a leash no longer than 6', and dogs are allowed in the campgrounds that are within park boundaries. Fishing with your dog is also popular.

Trail Policy

Dogs are allowed on most trails while on a leash no longer than 6'.

Campground Policy

Little Talbot Island State Park is inside the preserve boundaries, and allows dogs at campgrounds while on a leash no longer than 6'. Huguenot Memorial Park is also inside the preserve boundaries, and allows dogs at campgrounds.
