Walnut Canyon National Monument preserves cliffside dwellings and the geologic formations of the canyon, itself. There are trails throug the canyon and along the pueblos.

Walnut Canyon National Monument is somewhat dog friendly. Dogs are only allowed on one short trail, and not allowed on the main trail along the pueblos.

Trail Policy

Dogs are allowed on the Rim Trail (.7 miles round trip) while on a leash no longer than 6'. The Rim Trail is a scenic trail with overlooks over the pueblos, but not right next to them. Dogs are not allowed on the Island Trail.
