Washita Battlefield National Historic Site is Not Dog Friendly
Washita Battlefield is the location of a surprise dawn attack by Lt. Colonel George Armstrong Custer on a Cheyenne village led by Peace Chief Black Kettle. Washita Battlefield National Historic Site preserves the history of this grim attack and explores its historical impacts.
Washita Battlefield National Historic Site is not very dog friendly. Dogs are only allowed on the short trail next to the visitor center and in the parking lots while on a leash no longer than 6'. Dogs are not allowed on battlefield grounds or inside buildings.
